AVP/VP - Model Strategy & Oversight

Broadgate are currently partnered with a leading global bank who are looking for individuals to join their team at both AVP and VP level. This position will sit within the Model Strategy and Oversight Team in Treasury, Enterprise, Credit & Climate Risk where you will provide oversight and challenge to the interpretation and application of US regulatory requirements for regulatory capital calculation.

Location: New York (Hybrid Working)

AVP Salary: up to $140,000

VP Salary: up to $200,000

Overview

* Providing 2LoD review and challenge of 1LoD interpretive proposals based on independent assessment of appropriate regulatory capital treatment
* Delivering high quality regulatory capital analyses and reviews by maintaining robust technical knowledge of the capital rules
* Obtaining a clear understanding of the business context and economic drivers, and analysing all potential conclusions/options with associated risks and justifications
* Assessing the IHC's capital rule application framework including alignment with key rule requirements for exposure categorization and capital calculation, sample transaction review
* Engaging with lines of business, Risk and Finance and other key stakeholders on US regulatory capital related work streams and initiatives
* Advising Risk on US regulatory capital requirements; interpretation/application of standardised RWA requirements in complex/strategic transactions
* Oversight of horizon scanning, interpretation and implementation of emerging regulatory requirements for standardised RWA calculation

Skills required

* Experience in managing banking institution, central bank, prudential regulator, or any combination of these
* Exceptional technical understanding of current US Regulatory Capital Rules and awareness of future regulations
* Track record of dealing with complex transactions, understanding commercial rationale and applying judgment in the interpretation and application of regulatory requirements
* Experience in implementation aspects of the regulatory capital calculations

* Exceptional software skills including proficiency in the use of MS applications
