Operational Risk Manager - £50,000-£65,000

A great opportunity has come up to work as an Operational risk Manager within a growing insurer based in Milton Keynes. They have amazing offerings to their customers which are continuously expanding and allow them to be on the for front while remaining stable! You will be working for the Director of Operational Risk, and play a key part in the roll out of their risk framework over the next 18 months, as well as on going risk management.

Tasks will include, but not limited to:

  • You will be the face of operational risk in committee meetings
  • Take ownership of RCSA's
  • Help future the business through their period of growth and be able to question decisions made on behalf of operational risk procedures.
  • Support the incident management process to ensure that incidents are identified and remediated promptly and that root-cause analysis is carried out in order to identify the actions needed to prevent recurrence;
  • Drive the identification of control improvement opportunities within the business and work with the department heads to deliver changes where needed;
  • Become a trusted advisor to the business for all operational risk matters
  • Support the CRO, as well as the Director of Operational Risk in implementing and embedding the Operational Risk framework tools and methodologies;
  • Provide high level risk analysis to support and inform the risk governance structure, including any relevant Risk Committees and other governance meetings
  • Support the facilitation of Top Risk reviews and Stress/Scenario testing to install a robust risk framework

You will need:

· A proactive approach to delivering strong of risk management

· The ability to questions the business and help deliver risk solutions

· Ability to challenge and influence senior management

· Strong team ethic, but able to work on stand-alone projects with minimal supervision

· Decisive, whilst working at pace

· Ability to lead open discussion of risk issues at all levels

· Able to appreciate the big-picture, but whilst retaining a strong attention to detail

· Proficient with MS Office tools, such as PowerPoint and Excel

· Educated to Degree level
