Graduated from Queen's University in Belfast with degrees in Business Administration & French - having spent a year studying economics and business studies in Paris. Was recruited as a Graduate Trainee by Gillette in London and promoted through the ranks of Finance whilst studying for the CIMA qualification. From there, UPS presented an opportunity to manage a team of international accountants in the role of European Financial Controller developing the 5 year business plan format for 16 countries based on Activity Based Costing principles. Marriage lived up to all expectations and gave me a wonderfully supportive husband and 4 strapping boys. I stopped and restarted my career through the years since my first pregnancy in order to get the work-life balance right for a growing family. I moved between Corporate and SME roles to broaden my experience and I volunteered in SMEs during the career-breaks I took to support my family. I worked in Senior Management roles in NTL and Ordnance Survey moving into an FD role in Macintyre Scott followed by a Transformation role that lasted over 6 years in Vodafone working directly with the UK Board. Taking voluntary redundancy a year ago has given me time to reset my batteries and homelife balances again. Once again I volunteered with a SME business and have just embarked on consultancy work. Whilst time off is indeed a luxury, I am super keen to get back to 'learning and leading' in an exciting new company.
