ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Prudential Risk, the Prudential Risk Manager (Capital and Stress Testing) will be responsible for developing capabilities to support the day to day management and oversight of prudential risks, with a particular focus on Capital Management and Stress Testing capabilities. The role also entails developing stress testing approaches for the ICAAP and forward-looking risk analyses and metrics.

Sitting within the 2nd Line Risk and Compliance function, the Prudential Risk team is responsible for ensuring the core prudential risks are identified and managed in line with the regulatory requirements and the Bank's internal policies.

The Prudential Risk team is in charge of establishing the framework for oversight of Capital Management and Stress Testing leveraging the expertise of the other teams in the Risk and Compliance department as well as across the business.


Role responsibility/accountability:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing the Capital Management Framework.
  • Developing the Stress Testing Framework, policy and standards.
  • Oversight of Prudential Risk across the Bank including strategic and medium-term plan.
  • Defining the requirements and leading the delivery of the underlying capabilities pertaining to capital management, stress testing and associated reporting processes.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver the Bank's ICAAP, oversight the Recovery Plan and the ILAAP.
  • Support and oversight regulatory reporting across the Bank.
  • Conduct and perform 2nd Line Assurance activities over overall prudential risk management.
  • Support the provision of value-adding Management Information and business insights for the ICAAP and the monitoring of the risk appetite metrics.
  • Undertake horizon scanning and impact assessment to the Bank.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviors:

Essential:

  • Demonstrable direct relevant experience to the role in the Financial Services industry (at least 5 years, ideally retail banking, consultancy or regulatory).
  • Understanding of BIS, EBA and PRA capital rules, stress testing requirements and expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Capital Management and Stress Testing frameworks and oversight approaches.
  • Experience of ICAAP, including underlying assessment approaches.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience of senior stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Second Line of Defence.
  • In-depth understanding of statistical, econometric, modelling theories and applications for credit risk.
